Ben was born in Ithaca, New York - the son of two Cornell-trained anthropologists who spent his early years in Africa. He inherited their instinct for finding the invisible structures that shape behavior, and applied it to a different subject: the economics of business profitability.
As a kid, Ben and a friend caught exotic snakes in the Florida scrub. After a museum accepted his first one, he saw a business - selling to collectors, zoos, and universities. His mother made a counter-offer: she would pay him not to catch snakes. Ben took the deal.
In that transaction, a philosophy was planted: sometimes real value comes not just from doing more, but from doing less of the wrong things. It is the same principle at the center of everything Profit Doctor does today.
